810 – Bill Gates

Feel good shit!

Sophistic – The Driven Anthem ft. Irawnic & Insanity

Nice track from Sophistic. His album ain’t bad, but unfortunately no other track is anywhere near this bomb.

Chali 2na – Fish Outta Water

My favorite Jurassic 5 member dropped his bombing debut album back in ’09. Fresh as always, no need to introduct or explain anything. Let that man speak for himself: “Try to compete and catch a fair game beating – but I send my salams if you share the same greeting.”

Tracklist:

Sadat X feat. Pete Rock – Turn It Up

Nice joint. Those two are like 100 years old, but still keep droppin fiya!

Cecil Otter – Rebel Yellow

I am gonna post some more Doomtree stuff in the future, cause you need to feel that shit. I’ll start it off with this release by Cecil Otter. I usually don’t like albums where artist compose tons of different styles and shit, but this release masters all the experiments thanks to CO’s raps and ear for good beats. Best on this album “Black Rose” and “Traveling Dunktank” featuring another Doomtree head, P.O.S.

Celph Titled feat. Cashmere and Oktober- Clap

Celph Titled funny as always flanked by Oktober for one of my alltime classic hits. The beat.. too sick. Like Celph says “My album bang by the last track your neck get sore”, so better watch out when listening.

Blue Scholars – Bayani

Yes, this is nice. Bayani is farsi meaning “Message”, the DJ of this group is Persian and of Baha’i religion therefore the prayer at the beginning. Mos def belonging into Musalla Gardens. Extremely nice and melodic beats. Bangers are “Bayani”, “Loyalty” and “Ordinary Guy”.

Prop Dylan – Boombox Of Lost And Found

Good shit outta Sweden. I heard Prop Dylan on a single track on some compilation a couple months ago and that track was fire, so I was really excited about this mixtape. And the man didn’t disappoint. This free mixtape is more like an album, no intro, no skits and no annoying mixtape-bullshit like DJ shouting. This release has flat-out bombing tracks, no fillers, energy rap! Personal faves “What Goes Up”, “Flying Penguin” and “Number One”.

Mini-Documentary about A.G.

Some nice gyus out there have done a nice mini-documentary about A.G. Good stuff, but be sure to think about A.G.’s words. That shit is like a lesson for life.

Cosmo – Pieces EP

I don’t remember where I got this from, I didn’t know Cosmo before, but I love this EP. Flat out sick, relaxing music, even the man sung hook on “The Vibe” is off the hook. Personal faves on this record are “The Vibe”, “Rugrats” and “Ghost on the Field”.

Immortal Technique – Caught In A Hustle

Lyrical superhero Immortal Technique best track to date. The video luckily features the lyrics, so you get every single word he spits.

Jurassic 5 – Power In Numbers

The best album from Jurassic 5. Dropped in 2001, this LP features tons of sick beats and tracks. The best known tracks are probably “What’s Golden” and “A Day At The Races”, which was featured on one of the Tony Hawk games. Other personal faves are “High Fidelity”, my personal J5 highlight, and “Remember His name”, just to name a few.

Tracklist:

Dilated Peoples – Expansion Team

2nd and best album from the Cali trio. Will always be remembered for the classic hit “Worst Comes To Worst”. One top of that track you got “Proper Propaganda” and the best intro into a whole album with “Live on Stage”. Plus Dilated still celebrate the DJ, the origin of all rap music back in the days. Babu always nice, this time especially on “Dilated Junkies”.

Tracklist:

1.Live On Stage
2.Worst Comes To Worst (Listen on Youtube)

Edo G, Rasco and Reks – Gunz Still Hot (remix)

Nothing to say, one of the best 5 tracks ever.

Extra Prolific – Can’t Reap Til You Sow A Seed

I think this was just released on tape back in the late 90s. Nonetheless, the beat, flow and lyrics make this track an all-time classic.

Guante and Big Cats – An Unwelcome Guest

Personally, I hadn’t heard of any of those two before, but that ain’t saying nothing. The album is real nice, the tracks form a concept. You can hear and feel that they didn’t just put their best tracks on the table and called it done. I especially like the way the track “If It Bleeds, It Leads” is done, slowly getting to a climax. “The National Anthem” features a nice sung hook. “The Damp, Foggy Midnight” has a booming beat to finish the album extremely nice.

Tracklist:

01. Stories

Rapper Ness – Emancipation

Little joint for the night. I don’t know of any other releases of Rapper Ness, this track was featured on a 12″ he dropped in 2001. Track is pure fire and like the man himself puts it “intelligent street music”. He should have done some more stuff.

CunninLynguists – Southernunderground

This is to date the only album where I love every single track. No fills, just straight up dope music. Bangin tracks like “Southernunderground”, the laid-back all-time classic “Seasons feat. Masta Ace” as well as sick instrumentals like “War”. Probably best album ever. Nuff said.

  1. Intro
  2. SouthernUnderground (Listen on Youtube)

Grieves – Irreversible

This album is the shit. Ever since it hearing it the first time, I have it running on heavy rotation. Grieves has a nice flow and he is actually able to “sing”. It blends in nicely with the raps and the message of a song.
